The ability to make future predictions is important from several angles, including the formulation of resilient policies, optimal use of resources and better preparation in the face of crises. The Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence said based on these factors, today's leadership is not only focused on solving current problems, but also includes the ability to look far into the future to ensure the continued implementation of national priorities. Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof also emphasised the need for the Public Service to be adaptive to changes occurring in the increasingly challenging public sector landscape.
Yang Berhormat added, this includes openness to modern management approaches, especially in fully utilising the potential of the current digital technology, which is often talked about, such as Artificial Intelligence, AI, which is capable of transforming service delivery more quickly, efficiently and responsively.
Yang Berhormat was speaking during Certificate Presentation Ceremony for officers under the 31st Executive Development Programme for Senior Government Officers; 35th Executive Development Programme for Middle Management Officers as well as the Young Executive Programme Cohort 9. The event took place at the Prime Minister's Office. During the programme, participants were given practical exposure through work placements, community projects, study visits and dialogue sessions.
